Trigonometry Formulas

  • π rad = 180°; 1 + tan² θ = sec² θ; 1 + cot² θ = cosec² θ
  • sin(A ± B) = sin A cos B ± cos A sin B
  • cos(A ± B) = cos A cos B ∓ sin A sin B
  • tan(A ± B) = (tan A ± tan B) / (1 ∓ tan A tan B)
  • sin 2A = 2 sin A cos A; cos 2A = cos² A − sin² A = 1 − 2 sin² A = 2 cos² A − 1; tan 2A = 2 tan A / (1 − tan² A)
  • sin² A = ½(1 − cos 2A); cos² A = ½(1 + cos 2A)
  • 2 sin A cos B = sin(A + B) + sin(A − B); 2 cos A cos B = cos(A + B) + cos(A − B); 2 sin A sin B = cos(A − B) − cos(A + B)
  • sin A + sin B = 2 sin((A + B)/2) cos((A − B)/2); sin A − sin B = 2 cos((A + B)/2) sin((A − B)/2)
  • cos A + cos B = 2 cos((A + B)/2) cos((A − B)/2); cos A − cos B = −2 sin((A + B)/2) sin((A − B)/2)
